The new.gif (1380 bytes)AMD ElanSC520 5x86 32-bit embedded microprocessors are used in our newest and most powerful line of controllers.  With the on-board floating point coprocessor, as well as support for high (100/133 MHz) clock speeds, controllers based on this processor are ideal for resource-hungry applications.

You can read more about this microprocessor (and download the technical manual) from AMD here.

The first controller based on this microprocessor is the 586-Engine.    This controller is a more powerful version of the standard Engine-design (shared by the A-Engine and i386-Engine, as well as others) which allows it to be used as the core module for a wide range of TERN expansion boards.

This controller includes up to 19 channels of high-speed (up to 100 KHz sample rate) 12-bit ADC, and up to 8 channels of 12-bit DAC.

ElanSC520 Basic Features:
* 32-bit CPU, PBGA Package
* 100/133 MHz clock
* Floating Point Unit
* 32 programmable I/O lines
* Real Time Clock
* 2 asynchronous serial ports
* 15 external interrupts
* 7 timer/counters
